Did anyone else already experienced the issue that your Jolla will only reboot by the attempt of just powering it off (long pressing the power button)?

I already experienced this issue a few times this month and it's happening randomly.

Edit: I didn't experience it after Uitukka (Update 9) anymore.

I've had this problem sometimes and I think it often happen when I have git-annex (a kind of decentralized dropbox) running and when the phone is a bit sluggish. So I thought that when the phone can't properly shutdown because of a process running rogue it ends up rebooting instead of just shuting down. Maybe a feature coming from systemd but that's all just speculation.

I've never run to this, but marked your question as a possible bug for other to confirm. The functionality of the power button should be like this:

  • Short press when Phone on, Display on > Locked
  • Short press when Phone on, Display off > Lock screen
  • Short press when Phone off, charger connected > Show charging level
  • Short press when Phone off, charger disconnected > No action
  • Long press when phone on (not locked) > Shutdown
  • Long press when phone on (locked) > No action
  • Long press when phone off > Boot
