Faulty battery connectors?

My phone suffered severe rebooting problems, especially related with sudden movements and switching cell connection from 2g to 3g to 4g.

I was about to test the "paper trick" adding a piece of paper in the bottom of the battery, but happened to look at the phones battery connector first. I mean the spring loaded golden connectors that are supposed to take contact with the connectors in the battery side.

When glancing on this connector I noticed that the right most of them was a bit lower than the two other ones. I pushed it gently with head of a pencil to test if the spring works, and it didn't. So now my (-)-side power connector was not available. Apparently some of the rebooting problems I had suffered were due to this mechanical problem.

However I'm now facing problems with Optimaservice, because they are telling Jolla that the fault was self-caused. This is why I'm asking if anyone else has encoutered failing power/battery connectors on their Jolla phones?

No "bent" battery connectors here, but I do get the random reboot loops. I think that rebooting is quite common problem.

I just checked mine, with battery removed the springy connectors are ~1.5mm long, I guess with the battery installed, that clearance should be less than 0.5mm. I am not convinced either how the paper trick works with proper springy connectors. In general I do not remove sim/sdcard/battery on the phone unless it is necessary, I am not convinced about the quality of connectors/sockets, but may be that's me only, and yes phone does not suffer from random reboots ;-)

I had the same issue. I sent him to Jolla for repair, and they sent me back a fixed Jolla, that works perfectly now !

It has been stated numerous times already:

IF YOU HAVE REBOOT PROBLEMS CONTACT CARE

Did you read my last paragraph. I'm asking for similar experiences, because Jollas contract service provider is claiming that I have broken that connector even thought I haven't. So I'm asking if anyone else has had similar problems with the connector.

So I have contacted the care and they are saying that I should pay 120 € in order to get my phone fixed for a defect that I didn't cause my self, but is imho caused by bad component.

And please don't shout at me. I'm a bit grumpy already.

Sorry don't take it personally. Its just that people still complain about "paper tricks" and reboots and haven't sent their phones in yet.

You should probably explain the situation to care and optima. You had reboots even before you touched the connector they should get you a fixed phone. As simple as that.

difficult to prove that it's a manufacturing fault, although I suspect most of the rebooting issues are directly related with faulty power connectors.
