I keep noticing how everything is out of sync. Not just Hotmail accounts, Tweeter, Facebook... And of course the Android apps cant sync if they are closed. Really annoying! Just when they got Whatsapp working properly...

[Suggestions below didn't solve problem, since @dmelamet set up everything already this way. So please keep helping]
1. Are you using intergrated account services? (Settings/Accounts/Add Account). In case you already do: Make sure each of your accounts is 1st set on active and 2nd automatically being refreshed (you can chose how often).
2. Yes Android accounts are a bit different since they run within a different application layer. You will only get updates as long as an Android app is left open in multitasking view.
3. For WhatsApp i suggest that you use Mitäkuuluu. That's a native Sailfish Whatsapp client where you can text, send files etc. with your Whatsapp contacts - I promise, it's a fantastic app and you will get automatic WhatsApp notifications.
You can install Mitäkuuluu via Warehouse store (https://openrepos.net/content/basil/warehouse-sailfishos) or manually from here: https://openrepos.net/content/coderus/mitakuuluu
Make sure you have Settings/Untrusted software/Allow untrusted software enabled.

Caprico, sorry, I ASSUMED that everyone is using Mitakuuluu (I had the heating problem with it, just fixed recently) and Facebook and Tweeter and Outlook account as integrated services... I do. And they just wont update as expected. Of course I set them as active and of course they are set to update frequently. They just dont, even when I am using wifi. This is what I mean when I say "out of sync"... Things just dont seem to work as intended. Thanks for taking the time to answer...

I'm using pretty much all possible services the phone offers, and sync + notifications work great. If I found out something I let you know here.
molan ( 2014-10-03 20:49:28 +0200 )editI've had it happen that the Twitter account I added in Settings refused to update anymore (when manually forcing an update, it showed a network connection dialog). Rebooting fixed the issue, although now I've just removed the account and I'm using Tweetian instead. Have you tried a reboot yet?
