I am very interested in the source code of the Calendar app. There are lots of bugs and feature requests for this app and i would like to work on some of them. Some examples:

https://together.jolla.com/question/8404/copy-paste-entries-in-calendar/

https://together.jolla.com/question/57080/indicate-time-of-event-in-calendars-month-view/

I think this would also help lots of app designers, who want to create an app, interacting with the calender. For example here:

https://together.jolla.com/question/44544/how-to-interact-with-calendar-database/

Furthermore the calender seems to use a lot of Sailfish Silica components like SilicaGridView, SilicaListView and so on. So it would be a very good example on how to use this elements.

Is there any reason why the code is not open by now? Please tell us the reason or, even better, open source it ;)

Cheers, Alex

Updated the tag "open-source". Think this a good request and I'm sure many would appreciate an improved and open (if possible) calendar app. Great that you even offer your help :) Similar request was asked for the email client and Jolla gave following answer (back in Dec'13): https://together.jolla.com/question/3014/clarification-of-open-source-policy/#post-id-6768

Do you want to make a professional calendar? Great! Please include a week view and the permanent display of week numbers in the month view (without need to "peel"). Thanks!

It would be nice if it was made open source and current calendar app is quite well useless

@alexjj 1.5 years since you asked. did you get any response whatsoever?? would be great to have the jolla apps open sourced. didn't they promise something like that?

If you just want to create patches or have a look at the .qml files, they are accessible at /usr/share/jolla-calendar/. You can edit the files or even make patches to be deployed by patchmanager.

Thanks for that hint! After trying to understand the code i wanted to change some things. Unfortunately when i start the calendar now the screen only gets white. After changing back to the original files it works again. Have i overlooked something? Do i have to use the SDK in some way?

No there were just some errors that caused this glitch but using sdk would be easyer and much more easyer if you have the full sources

@Alex-jj you can launch from terminal to get more debugging information
