How to specify the interval of contact/calendar data auto-sync (or manually trigger it)? [released]

Is there a way to enable sync / auto-refresh of contact-data and calendar items?

Now, if I change some contact or calendar item in the web (service) even after half-our I can't see any update of data on jolla side, Seems that I have to disable and enable the sync function from the customer account setting to make sync happen.

Update: edited the title to reflect the discussions, but note that there could still be duplicate question in the system already (abt contact/calendar data sync schedules and intervals).

Update: resolved with firmware 1.0.7.16

@Xowap How can you tell contacts/calendars are being updated? I haven't seen it happening, but initially when.Google calendar events appeared to systen Calendar.

@jjaone some events that I've created yesterday were present this morning, and I didn't reboot my phone nor do anything like touching accounts in the meantime.

  • Currently this is only possible in Exchange active sync accounts:
    • Settings -> Accounts -> Microsoft Exchange -> Peak interval etc.
  • Sync can be manually triggered only for emails (in app option), not for contact/events

Is there a way to enable sync / auto-refresh of contact-data and calendar items?

  • Settings -> Accounts -> Account name -> Sync switch + contacts/calendar switch (account dependent)

Additionally (not an answer to the question, but related to sync)

  • Sync interval for imap/pop3 email accounts is selected at Settings -> Apps -> Email
  • Bug concerning the sync interval not working in selected time is already reported
  • Bug concerning exchange account sync from Jolla to MS is already reported
  • Users could be missleaded as there's also Settings -> System settings -> Sync, which is unrelated to these (It's currently in use only for Bluetooth sync with other devices)

In overall, the way the synch is implemented (splitted to several areas in settings, not selectable interval, in app manual triggering not possible) and because of the bugs, actions taken by Jolla are required. There are several ongoing discussions related to these in together portal, please search for more.

With update 1.0.7.16 it is possible to to set the interval for your CalDav accounts in Settings -> Accounts -> Account name. I only have it tested with OwnCloud but I guess the others have it too.
