TOH: Is the other half forwards compatible? [duplicate]

There are so many nifty TOH popping up – from the mighty keyboard, to funky stuff and even breadboards!
…but all this brings up an important question:
Are the other halves future compatible?
Meaning, if we buy a dozen of TOH today for the first Jolla phone, will we be able to reuse (and on the other hand continue to create) the same TOH for future versions of Jolla as well? For the version 2, which we hope to hear more about in the coming months? For version 3 and beyond?
I apologise if this was already asked and answered – I searched this board as well as quickly asked on the IRC channel and found no answer (except for: “No idea” and “unknown”).
