With XMas shopping around the corner, and LTE-Advanced being rolled out, I was wondering what were Jolla's plans regarding LTE-A.

Thx in advance, LS

I believe the Snapdragon 400 doesnt allow this. The Snapdragon 800 should (next Jolla Phone perhaps?). LTE-A however, should be backwards compatible, so at least we should still be able to connect with the 'current' speed...

Snapdragon 800 is effectively legacy now. BB Passport is probably the last significant phone that will carry it. There would be little reason for Jolla to use it. If they stick with Qualcomm (personally I hope they consider Mediatek), something like the new 615 would be perfect ... it'd offer immensely better performance and features than the 400, including ARMv8, without the cost of the current high end 801 / 805 or soon to be available 808 and 810.

It's not gonna happen guys. The chip in current device doesn't support it. But, perhaps next device.

LTE-A is now being offered in selected cities in the UK. Would be good for Jolla to offer this option if not in this phone then the next one.
