[Request] Jolla Phone model with hardware keyboard

Hi,

As we have seen here (47% wants a keyboard, 30% touchscreen only) and with all the commotion the last days about TOHKBD kickstarter, I'd want to ask Jolla if there would be a future model (even if it wouldn't be the main model) with a physical hardware keyboard.

Jolla would have a unique selling point against all the clones that've crowded the market nowadays. Jolla likes the idea of being unlike, and this would fit perfectly with that ideology. Unfortunately, it still hasn't happened and worse...there never has been a reason...

Please Jolla, give us what we are hoping for or explain why you wouldn't want to make a model with a physical keyboard....

The idea of having The Other Half is exactly what you area asking for, so why would you ask for a phone with a keyboard in the main half?

47% for keyboard, 30% for touchscreen, or 77% to have it either way with a TOH ;)

I agree. Having a hardware keyboard other half gives users an excellant choice. Those that need the keyboard can purchase the toh, others can ignore it and be happy with the touch screen

I don't like the idea paying €100+ for something that costs probably around €10 of hardware ;) Only TOH-makers doesn't have the means to produce it cheap.

Historically I can't think of a single phone where a hardware keyboard only added €10 to hardware cost. I am sure the phone will be more expensive as well

Well...this is €25. With bluetooth, with extra plastic (where the phone fits in), with its own battery. I think €10, €15 or €20 would be very reasonable. That's something else than > €100, we can't really deny that. TOHKB is a solution, but a (real) expensive one.

I think you misunderstood. I just said that a phone with a built in keyboard will not come at just an additional cost of €10. Whether that additional cost is €100 is a different argument.
