I prefer K-9 (a common open-source android mail client) as my mail client. Is there a way for the system to use this by default, e.g. when sending a photo from the Sailfish photo app?

(Naturally I don’t expect special support for K9, but rather support for Android’s mail sending API in general, similar to how it is possible to use Firefox as the default browser.)

Also, from the contact's page in the people app. Sending an email from there apparently requires the jolla email app, while I also prefer K9mail.

I would prefer Jolla to work on improving their core applications than to support android apps.

True. But it’s not going to be the case that Jolla will be able to provide the best tool for everyone.

We definitely need a NATIVE email client with advanced GUI, cryptography, search functions, etc. Email is typically the kind of thing I don't want to entrust to non-native apps. SailfishOS should be the guardian of my privacy. I am willing to pay for it, if required. Not you?

@nomeata, we need to be careful with core applications, we must support and improve the native ones, and at the same time get 3rd party ones.
