Would really like an extended battery capacity.

I would really like a kickstand to be added. (like on the surface 3 just as an example)

I love that you use an intel atom CPU this will make it sooo much easier to have a fully open source stack/kernel.

Q: CPU is the older Z2760, Z3740 or Z3560 ?

gbraad ( 2014-11-19 14:25:23 +0200 )edit

Why is the weight so much?

Agree.. I would like to have 3G/4G/LTE connectivity, as with that the Jolla tablet to be used as a pad-phone.One pocket is not enought for all the devices we need everyday

Or have a USB-Port to attach a GSM-Dongle. Not so elegant though.

WiFi only doesn't appeal that much to a lot of people including myself. I didn't even notice that before making my pledge otherwise I wouldn't have pledged.

@MoBility: I prefer WiFi only. If I am traveling I can always use tethering from the mobile phone to connect the tablet.

sifartech ( 2014-11-19 13:20:57 +0200 )edit

The Xiaomi MiPad is a beautiful and well speced tablet and I love it but so far I have resisted from buying it because it's wifi only. But now that I have pledged, I will wait for delivery and return it right back to them I really hate wifi only tablets. None of the other 3G or 4G tablets on the market at the moment appeals to me so I am hoping the Oppo or Xiaomi will make a beautiful 3G or 4G tablets soon.

concerns:
The only concerns I have is Weight & Batterylife.
Though it is true what you state, that sailfish may be engery-consumption friendly
I am guessing that with the current app situation I will have to rely on some Android Apps
and this will heavily change the total capabilities!

Furthermore, consider that specifically with a tablet I find that lighter is always better.

Everything else I like and I wish you best of luck!
Looking forward to see the results in May.

Agreed battery capacity should be increased

Or swappable

Battery life is a bit of a regard considering that even if the OS is low energy proven, 4200 mAh is pretty weak

Wish: HDMI port & OLED display.

Why not? a kickstand.

Hope: stereo-Loudspeakers are Loud enough

Swappable in an uniform body

Loving it!

Things to add IMHO:

  • AV out

  • 3G-4G

AV out https://together.jolla.com/questions/63768/

gbraad ( 2014-11-19 13:55:37 +0200 )edit

Some form of wired AV connection would be ideal. https://together.jolla.com/question/5617 although the USB 3.1 discussion may offer that solution and more? https://together.jolla.com/question/63631

Could have a mobile or home version tablet with or without mobile SIM option.. Go to market with what you have and develop the 'mobile' version soon after.

Hello!

Love it, funding it.

Liked:

  • Form factor (aspect ratio)
  • Screen specs (around 8 inch is perfect, resolution is great)
  • Design
  • OS
  • SD card
  • USB OTG (hopefully provides enough power for external 2,5 inch hdd)

Not like:

  • Battery size (would prefer a thicker device and larger battery, perhaps even replacable one)

Would like to see:

  • HDMI or other video out
  • Front facing speakers
  • New USB type C connector
  • Expansion port (dock type on one side of the tablet, I2C)

Loved:
1. Sailfish 2.0? Exite!

Liked:
1. That screen. Yes. Just. Yes.
2. 32GB and SD.

Not worried:
1. Battery. Sure, it's not the highest, but I've used my Jolla for a day and lost only 10% battery life. I don't even. Only tethering kills my jollas battery (Every single day!), which isn't a factor on the tab even with that screen.

Not as impressed:
1. The camera. It's not really a big issue, but 5mp does seem a bit on the small side. 2mp front facing is juuust fine, though.

Use usb tethering and your Jolla battery will not drain that fast ;) https://together.jolla.com/question/8357/jolla-as-usb-modem/ or in short pkcon install usb-moded-connection-sharing-android-config (eventually reboot needed)

Use bluetooth for tethering. Wifi sucks. In more than one way :P

Fuzzillogic ( 2014-11-19 19:18:59 +0200 )edit

Camera: I'd say I'm surprised. I think in case of a tablet the front cam is just as important, 2Mp is few now

I really like the specs at all. Maybe you can add a bit more battery power to it ;)

Do you have any more informations about which intel chip will be used and which ports will be build in? A mini HDMI port or so would be cool.

All seams to be fine except the battery. Please add some mAh and make the battery replaceable...

Just add more battery capacity IMHO. 6000+ mAh. Then this would be more than perfect.

I think a larger capacity battery should be nice. tablets seems to have lots of space.

Add a WYSIPS screen to the tablet. Make it a stretch goal. That would solve your negative feedback on the battery. http://sunpartnertechnologies.com/

Expectation of features to be seen in customer Jolla Tablet - 1)Battery capacity needs to be minimum - 5000 mah, as my Jolla phone is not having battery life for a single day. And heats up very badly with Wi-Fi or 3G connection. 2)Is it having Gorilla Glass? 3)If front / rear camera comes with flash. it will be great attractive among users 4)Video

For Jolla Mobile Expecting Sailfish OS 2.0 for jolla mobile on Nov 27th(for 1st year celebration) Expecting the update will solve heating issue
