optional device/SD encryption [duplicate]
Considering that the used CPU in the tablet seems to have AES-NI support, encryption of the device and SD card would be a nice and useful feature. Probably it won't be complete encryption like with desktop systems due to practical constraints, but optional encryption of the card and user-related data (home directory, log files, etc) on the device should be feasible.
The missing encryption is for me currently the number one flaw in Sailfish OS. So +1 for your question. Although I would propose to close this question because it's a duplicate from https://together.jolla.com/question/2158/optional-encryption-of-the-device/

I opened this question as a feature request for the tablet, as proposed on indiegogo, because I have taken one of the "first sailor" tablets. As long as this stays as a feature request for the tablet... I guess the separation in requests for the software is not always so easy to do. Although it was specifically pointed out that feature requests for the tablet should be done and tagged with the corresponding tags. Question is if there even can be then any legitimate feature requests for the tablet. Software is also for phone, and probably a lot of them already mentioned for the phone, and hardware requests are possibly redundant, because hardware changes might be not possible... Duh... :-)

Edit: should have AES-NI as mentioned in datasheet. Seems the tables on the website might be wrong.
