Disable SMS messaging

I really don't use SMS at all (like at all), and I keep getting spam all the time, especially from my crappy service provider.

Is there a way to totally and completely disable SMS on my Jolla, eg: silently discard them or somehow inform the service provider that the devices does not support them?

Try going to settings->apps->messages and delete or edit sms message center address.
