What is the best way to cover the front camera?

I do not need the front camera of my jolla phone in daily live. And since I am a little bit paranoid, I would like to cover it, to procted my privacy a bit more.
Once in a while you read in the news about another bad guy, hacking into laptops and snooping around by switching on the build-in webcam. I don't think chances are high, that I would be a victim off such an attack. But I don't like the thought of being vulnerable.
Putting a little peace of black cardboard on top of the front camera lens is a simple but very effective protection against such an evil app or bad guy, trying to snoop around. And the user can easily verify if this protection is still in effect. In contrast to anti-malware software, which might have been broken by the attacker without your knowledge.
But I haven't found a solution, how to fix this little black cardboard (produced with a hole punch). I tried a piece of Tesafilm / Scotch Tape / Sellotape (2cm x 1 cm). But the glass surface seems to have very low grip (which is great for cleaning). So putting the jolla phone in my pocket and out again a few times rubbed the cover off again.
So I am asking the community: Has someone else found a solution for this problem?
Maybe applying a small piece of sugru might do the job. But this would be quite final. Beeing able to put it on and off by users choice would be better. ;)
I also thought about modding my TOH and building something with metal. Of course heavily rounded to avoid injury or scratches on the display glass.
if you are that concerned use a scotch tape to block the camera and on top stick a normal screen protector.

Otherwise, you could just use some tipp-ex (white correction fluid). If you make a cool shaped template, it could actually look good. And if you do want to use the front camera, it's easy enough to scratch it off again.
bilgy_no1 ( 2014-12-13 23:34:50 +0300 )editYou could simply try applying a dot on the glass over the lens with a permanent marker (like Edding). Depending on the type of marker used, this should be reversible by rubbing it off with some kind of mild solvent (rubbing alcohol).
But be careful with any kind of aggressive solvents (like acetone/nail polish) near your phone, some can do nasty damage to any polycarbonate (plastic) parts. You should definitely test this on something other than your Jolla first, though! It may take some research and/or trial&error to find the right type of marker - one that stays permanent on glass under the influence of sweat and rubbing, but can still be removed without damaging the phone, hmm... Maybe ask somebody to borrow their Iphone? ;)
