I have a idea for an app that can be very useful, at least to me. Only problem is it needs a large viewport (ea. tablet). To get a head of the tablet I was hoping to start it this Christmas. So I was wondering if there is a way to start developing for Sailfish 2.0 and the tablet at this point? If there is not an option to start working at it at this point when will the SDK for the tablet be released?

Just a little suggesting (and tiny project promotion ;-) ): You can write you application with Universal Components, which support both Silica and QtQuick Controls as a backend. Then you can easily run in on desktop with any window size you like, easily simulating a tablet screen size. And the same GUI code will also work with Silica on the Jolla and the Jolla tablet in the future. :)

Unfortunately we most likely won't be able to provide an SDK with enabled tablet support before Q2 2015.

Any way I can add the viewport for the tablet myself? I will use standard QT5 so porting to a newer version won't be that hard.

yeah was thinking about that my self also, I'll check with the team if we could put some HowTo (which probably will require some unofficial manual tweaks) out. Of course icons etc will then not yet be scaled and look messed up, but it might already be enough to get some impression how it will look like.

Hopefully not before update-10 is released to everyone!!

Any update on how to do this? If you want good support for the tablet from the start. Development needs to start now.
