Jolla interface and system frozen

This following sequence has happened over the past few hours :

It started out as a game called Colordots that would freeze the interface. You could shut off display with power button and come back with power button, but double-tap on screen would not work. After 20-30 seconds it would unfreeze and work again. I uninstalled that game, rebooted.

Then it got worse. The freezes started occuring on any app. The interface became very jerky. Any pulldown motion seems to stop at the mid-point of the screen. Scrolling a browser or chosing a menu past the 2nd option is impossible.

Then the whole system started freezing at random intervals. Only a restart after removing the battery would get it working again, for a little while.

Now it jams a few seconds on the homepage after a restart.

How does a device go from working perfectly this afternoon to being practically bricked in a few hours ?

I have done this, my Jolla keeps on freezing and sometimes it's so bad that the phone reboots as the watchdog thinks the phone is dead in water.

I friend of mine said he got rid of the freezes when he disabled the alien dalvik, but sadly I'm quite depending of the alien dalvik as there is nowadays no IM which work natively and that others uses.

Thank you for the article : https://together.jolla.com/question/30822/root-and-home-disks-full-and-causing-various-problems/

In the meantime, I tried a backup and device reset. Still doesn't work.

The phone is so jammed up that I can't get anywhere near the terminal to determine the if btrfs is the culprit, however the symptoms are almost identical to those outlined in the article.

If btrfs is the problem, then I am extremely disappointed and, I might add, extremely embarrassed as my brother received his new Jolla a few days ago because of my enthusiastic recommendation.

Meanwhile I guess it's back to the iPhone...

UPDATE :

Working again... was able to check btrfs with following results :

[root@localhost nemo]# btrfs fi show Label: 'sailfish' uuid: 0f8a2490-53ed-4ff6-ba34-b81df3430387 Total devices 1 FS bytes used 1.65GB devid 1 size 13.75GB used 6.75GB path /dev/mmcblk0p28 Btrfs v0.20-rc1

So not a btrfs problem ?

What then ?

Since you are able to acccess the root shell . Maybe pasting the logs would be useful. #journalctl should give you the log . Pipe it to a file and upload it to some pastebin .

Well, if the device reset didn't help you then it's probably something hardware-related. I think you should contact Jolla support - https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

Very strange, the screen seems to have been bisected in two portions top and bottom in terms of touch. I cannot, for instance, drag an icon from the top of the screen to place it in the bottom half. The touch and drag effect command is canceled when I reach the equator. It's as if I have two screens that are independent of each other in terms of touch.
