Here maps positioning without AGPS.

Is it supposed to work with only the GPS enabled? While i didn't tested it extensively it doesn't seem to get the position of you in the maps app without AGPS enabled.

Yep, it's supposed to work with GPS only - sometimes slower, even minutes, but usually quite fast - especially when under the sky outside.
I also just tested, and got a gps fix with agps disabled in couple of minutes inside a building.
