After a smooth update to 1.1.1.27 yesterday, it turns out my Gallery of photos has vanished. Not a single photo left anymore.

So woul anyone have any ideas if they are lost forever or if they could be found somewhere?

do you still find the photos in \home\pictures with file manager? If yes, a simple reboot might help?

I do find them with file manager, fantastic! Reboot did not bring them in Gallery (yet at least) but that's just a minor detail. They'll probavly show up in Gallery too, when they feel comfortable enough with the new update. :)

Thank you for help!

Just click a photo, it should appear. At least, it did in my case. :-)

So it took a total of 8 photos to be taken until the older photos appeared in Gallery again. But here they are, hurray!

If you have activated developer mode execute the following command in your terminal

tracker-control -es

This will rebuild your tracker database and index all you media files again.

If you didn't activate developer mode then just go to the Jolla store install the native app 'Utilities', then move to settings - system - utilities and rebuild the mefia database (last option). :)

I thought, Sailfish Utilities route is better option than developer mode. :-)
