Any senseful use planned for Lock Screen ?
Firing up my Jolla gives me a big screen called "Lock Screen" with a nice background picture, but almost no senseful information ..
I do not see informations I really need like
- battery status
- signal strength of mobile network
- SSID connected to
... I do see so called "notifications" without any relevant information like
- missed call but no clue who called (additional interaction required)
- SMS but no clue who sent (additional interaction required)
- etc.
I do understand, that some people love things like "clear design" even if it's of no use, or do not want to display "private" informations directly on the lock screen - for me who's using the phone as a permanent tool for work and privately, this "Lock Screen" is a permanent nuisance due to its uselessness ... it's called "Lock Screen" but it does not even contain the "Lock" - additional interaction required ...
EDIT1:There's light at the end of the tunnel - thanks to https://together.jolla.com/users/3481/vasvlad/ we've got a Meecast weather widgeton the lock screen - working perfectly !! https://openrepos.net/content/vasvlad/meecast-daemon
EDIT2:The next beam of light - thanks to https://together.jolla.com/users/315/ziobilly/ we've got a progress bar for Battery Chargeon the Lockscreen https://together.jolla.com/question/78038/progressbar-in-lockscreen/
Keep going !!
if you have 'allow feeds while locked' option on in lock screen settings, then you can show the notification panel without unlocking the phone.
Sure this is still 'additional interaction required' but its only a quick swipe gesture away.

Manankanchu ( 2014-12-25 15:15:24 +0200 )editIt is really strange that you will have to slide down to see battery status and signal strength of mobile network. Is there some reason for this?
Jozo ( 2014-12-25 20:18:46 +0200 )editthere is quickbar app which offers acces to mru & fav apps directly from lockscreen :)
