So. I received my brand new Jolla today. I set it all up, put the apps on etc. and attempted to update the OS. However, the OS would not update stating an error with the store (can't remember exact error message). I tried updating a few times but it always gave the same error message. So I thought I'd turn off the phone and turn it back on to try again. But the phone won't turn back on. It shows the Jolla logo on screen and then gives a black screen that won't do anything. I tried everything in this: [https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202208763] guide using my Windows PC and still nothing. Any help appreciated. I'd just like to actually get it up and running. [EDIT] I found this post https://together.jolla.com/question/65568/mmcblk1p1-no-such-file-or-directory-or-how-to-screw-up-a-user-for-a-whole-night/ Which looks as though it might help. I'll try it tonight when I get back from work.

I had the same problem after upgrading to the latest version. Option 5 from recovery menu didn't help :(

second question you linked is helping if you get "File not Found" when trying to mount the sd to copy the downloaded "recovery-menu" to the phone. Problem there was a missing mnt folder. creating it via "mkdir /mnt" after entering shell, before mount attempt helped. So, what is your error message?

OK. So I managed to get a bit further in 'option 4'. I put the recovery file onto an SD and ran the Shell. Put in the commands and this is what appeared:

Are you really SURE? [y/N] y[CLEANUP] Starting cleanup!

[CLEANUP] Umounting top volume...

[CLEANUP] Umounting /mnt

[CLEANUP] Deleting /mnt

[CLEANUP] Cleanup done. Mounting /dev/mmcblk0p28 on /mnt

sh: unlock: unknown operand

[OK] No lockcode has been set. Proceeding...

sh: unlock: unknown operand

sh: shell: unknown operand

[ERROR] Flashed recovery image is too old and does not support phone clearing.

[CLEANUP] Starting cleanup!

[CLEANUP] Umounting top volume...

[CLEANUP] Umounting /mnt

[CLEANUP] Deleting /mnt

[CLEANUP] Cleanup done.

I also get an error box stating 'connection closed by remote host'

fdisk gives me this:

/ # fdisk -l

Disk /dev/mmcblk0: 15.6 GB, 15634268160 bytes

256 heads, 63 sectors/track, 1893 cylinders

"[ERROR] Flashed recovery image is too old and does not support phone clearing." indicates that the wrong recovery-menu file (the one on the phone) is still used. did the mount process and copy from sdcard really pass without errors?

Hello KLou22? Did you solve the problem or can we still help?
