Facebook and Google history chats are not synchronized [duplicate]
Hey fellas,
I do not know whether this problem affects you as well and whether it is annoying for you or not. Whenever I use the chat of Facebook or Google (Hangout) using the native interaction with Jolla (with the two accounts) I have problem of history synchronization. For example: if I use the chat from the website-android app and I send some messages, these do not appear on my Jolla. Therefore I lose the track of the conversation. Is it possible to implement some pull function that gets the history of the chat? Including the messages sent by other devices as well?
This would make the interaction with those services perfect. The Hangout app is not working properly (no push notification when you open it, it is very slow, etc...), so if some improvements would be done from Jolla's side would be great.
Yes I have the same problem. I am using Google Talk/Hangouts with Jolla&PC. When I am away from PC I get messages on Jolla and that works pretty decently like it did on Android phone. But on Android I could see all messages (in Hangouts) while on Jolla I only see messages that are "routed" to the phone when I am away. If I have just left from PC and I get a message it might still go to PC chat. Later messages arrive correctly to Jolla, but when I read and reply I never see the previous chat. After some lines even if I go back to pc the message is no longer visible (replaced by the newer messages). With Jolla I get much more "when did you tell me that?" moments than with Android. Plus if I need to check something from the chat later it's usually no use to look for that message on Jolla.
But I understand this might be a bit problematic to solve. To my understanding Google messages are treated just like SMS, all the messages are stored in the phone and you can even have Google/SMS messages under the same contact. Considering the amount of lines in my Google chats, we would need a way to have only the latest 30 or something messages visible, but I don't think that works well with "permanent" SMS messages. This feature would mean an overhaul for the whole messaging app. I like the ability to switch between SMS/Facebook/Google etc. in the message app, but maybe I would rather have "all" Google messages visible. Maybe it would be easiest to just have a separate Google messaging app for Jolla...
