Microphone not working during phone calls [answered]
Since yesterday, all of a sudden my microphone does not seem to be working anymore when placing or receiving a voice call. Pressing mute/unmute does not seem to change anything and also rebooting the phone did not help. With a bluetooth carkit, voice calls are working, so it does not seem to be network related.
With the aid of the Recorder app from the Jolla store, I am able to record using the microphone, so the hardware seems in order too. In any case, I stopped Android support, to prevent any possible interference of other apps with the microphone, but still it keeps quiet on the other end of the line.
Does the Phone-app have its own microphone volume control that may be turned off for some reason? Any suggestions on what may be the problem or how to resolve it? I couldn't find any related post. My Jolla has Sailfish version 1.1.1.27. Any suggestion is much appreciated. Thanks.
Have you tried with the CSD tool? You can run the tool by dialing ##310##. Be aware that the Jolla has two microphones. The second one is on the top and used for noise cancellation so that the remote party can hear you better if you call from a noisy environment.

As for the cause - sorry, no realistic ideas. Although, if I had to answer, I'd be inclined to blame the Android side of the phone but without any explanation, just a hunch. After removing it from my Jolla, I have very few problems other than the ones I cause by messing with system files.

idro ( 2015-01-09 16:07:25 +0200 )edit@idro - the problem is fixed by installing voicecall-ui-jolla. The OP already stated that enabling/disabling the speaker made no difference.
