Vsenn smartphone compatibility with sailfish OS [answered]

This Finnish startup announced a few weeks ago that their future smartphone will support sailfish OS (in addition to Ubuntu, etc). Is it just an announce effect meaning that porters will be able to easily port sailfish OS on it or is there any partnership with Jolla meaning a full integration of sailfish with working closed source bits (android apps, etc)?

Any hints from the sailors?

Media coverage here suggests that Vsenn is just a hoax and not a real company that we should expect to release products. Do people get different information elsewhere?

As far I know from Vsenn they are shipping their phone with stock Android and updates for 4 years. But to extend that they have a program called ARP, which stands for Approved ROM Program. In this program they support Android ROM devs with porting help through a forum and with free hardware I think. A few weeks ago they extended this ARP program to also include other OS's than Android, namely Ubuntu Touch, Firefox OS and Sailfish OS.

So my conclusion is: No they don't partner together with Jolla they will only support the porters with documentation, help and devices!

But anyway Vsenn's idea of a modular phone is very interesting and worth following how they will make it.
