Thanks to instructions from jjaone I've successfully installed Google Play Store on my Jolla. (BTW:I've used Windows 8 Remote terminal to connect to my Jolla using ssh, very easy to use, even for a complete novice!)
I've downloaded Android Here Maps Beta which works very well but without voice instructions. Anyone got any ideas?

Did you download a voice as well? If I remember correctly there is not any voice at all included in a fresh install. You can select which voice/language in the settings.
Thanks nick75. I thought that the voice was already downloaded as it didn't show the same icon as the other languages. I've downloaded both the standard and HiFi versions of the relevant language and lo and behold.... it works! Unfortunately it seems like an either/or situation with handsfree or navigation but not both. We'll keep our fingers crossed that native Sailfish navigation based on Here Maps will arrive soon.. I'll want it for a European driving trip in the summer.

after downloading voice data it was working fine for me but i was wondering why i couldn't hear sounds in my car.
Problem is: while connected to bluetooth car kit jolla sends all sounds over BT, but my build in car kit only plays BT sounds while receiving a call -> no navigation sound for me while connected
nightmare ( 2015-01-27 22:57:23 +0300 )editYes, this is a common problem with a lot of mobiles and car BT. There are a number of different BT profiles, and the sound played from an app (music or navigation instructions) goes over another BT channel/profile than phone calls.
