Time to allow QtPositioning module in the store? [released]

If I understand correctly, in update 10 jolla started to fully support Qt 5.2. From that thread I read that QtPositioning module will be accessible for developers when its API will be stable, so in Qt 5.2, however allowed_qmlimports.conf shows that it is still not allowed in store. Is there is any reasons not to do that?

P.S. I searched but I can't find is QtLocation became stable or not in newest Qt updates?

I am developping native sport tracker and I can say the posioning API works nicely. I didn't know it is still banned in the store, good to know there may be no users :-(

Michal, no worries, u can always submit your app to Openrepos if the Harbour policy restrictions prevent it to be made available in Store ;)

I just don't get it why Jolla is being so strict. I as a developer will undertsand that it's not rhe phone or OS being bad if an app is not working properly.

If you want to hear my qualified opinion after waiting for this for 14+ months:

JUST DO IT ALREADY!!!

I think there are really no more excuses to making the official application store useless by plainly disallowing GPS using applications.

Yes there we said it would come with Qt 5.2. Unfortunately was thp a little precipitate and things don't go always as planned. Sorry.

As we already tried to explain in several IRC community meetings:

The problem with QtPositioning is that it is bound to HERE APIs (Nokias map/location/position service), the usage of HERE APIs is bound to a license agreement. So now we have to ensure that we allow its usage in a license conform way, and unfortunately this takes its time. Since lawyers and developers often don't speak the same language :) and we want to be sure we do it right. Otherwise its consequences might not be pleasant for all of us.

I hope this explains the current situation. BTW the same problem applies also to QtLocation, besides that it's not stable yet.

And no I currently have no ETA when that will happen.

So I guess you will have to disable location for Android applications as there is no way in hell any of them complies with some obscure HERE API license ? ;-)
