Currently there is no indication to which account a contact is linked. It is also not possible to select the account to which a device created contact should be linked and synced. Users might have multiple sync destinations or want to change the sync server.

  • Must have:

During creation of a contact on the device, the user should be able to select one of the previously created accounts able to sync contacts. The People application should show for each contact to which account it is linked.

EDIT(02/2015, @lakutalo): It should also be possible to deselect syncing of an existing contact .

  • Nice to have:

Deletion of an account should offer the option to move all linked records to another account (with the same protocol). Single contact's linkage to an acount can be edited (moved to another account).

IMO this is an important feature among others when considering Jolla/SFOS as a professional alternative to other phones. At least it could have the potential for that.

I'm a bit puzzled about this missing feature. I see this is perfectly implemented in the calendar app where you can create an appointment in a specific calendar if you use more then one. Please, implement this!

Any news or workaround for this issue?

I created a new account on my phone (phone linked to 3 google contacts accounts), and had no idea in which or where the account was created. Had to check on google contact's website to discover that one of them had the new contact.

  • How to change the default account for saving contacts? (in GUI or command line)
  • Is it possible to know which contact is linked to which google account? (I can see links to Google in People's app, but which one of those accounts?)
