System-wide clipboard (copy-paste) capability
There is currently no way to copy text to the clipboard unless the text is being edited.
The clipboard also fails in browser text fields, which have limited text editing.

Where is the source code for the clipboard so we can try to locate the persistent problems with it? Please provide a link to the GUI code and the variables or memory area to which the clipboard GUI refers (apparently wrongly at least some of the time)
Agree with this one, same goes for sms or email...if i get email i can not copy text parts or phone numbers ....
Miki ( 2013-12-25 01:53:00 +0200 )editI am with you in this one; the clipboard should be system wide function to grab any text and to paste it to any text fiield in the UI, that accepts input. Also when pasting text, it shoudln't by default remove it from the clipboard.
foss4ever ( 2013-12-25 04:43:28 +0200 )editI am with you on this - copy paste must be system wide function. Any text should be available for copying - in browser. mail, documents, sms, contacts. And also the copy interface itself should be really revised - copying text from email you answer is PITA - the text zooms in, moves to the side, jerks.
zlatko ( 2013-12-25 12:53:00 +0200 )edit@jjaone Actually pasting text to any input is possible. Just now I discovered that when you swipe the clipboard icon on the keyboard then it will show you what is in the clipboard. Click on it and you will paste this text in the input. Kind of hard to discover, thought :-).
Nux ( 2013-12-26 19:18:20 +0200 )edit@Nux: thanks, swiping the icon actually shows the content of the clipboard and it can be pasted many times. That's good, but now we still need a way to copy read-only texts to clipboard fron anywehere in the UI
