I wanted to copy the maps from another phone (android) to my Jolla to avoid re-downloading all countries and to use offline maps. But I can't find speaking named files, my guess would be Android\data\com.here.app.maps\files\.here-maps\diskcache-v4\41E0E473 on the Android-phone, this folder seems to be big enough by size.

Does anybody know if this is correct?

Can I simply copy the files to Jolla (to the respective folder of course) or do they need to be installed by the app itself so that they get registered?

Can we use the downloaded maps also with the Jolla maps app, since this is also referring to here maps?

It is the correct folder, no you cannot use it with the native HERE maps

Is simple copying possible? Or do I need to install/download them officially?

Well I will give it a try later and post the results...

This question does not belong to TJC-forum (because it is about non-Jolla device and system). Please close as irrelevant, or off-topic, etc..

@jjaone what are you talking about?

The OP wants to know in which folder some files in his/her Android-device are, and I thought that this forum is mostly about Jolla devices and systems, that's why I closed it as off-topic. By all means, keep the Q open if you think that questions concerning random Android/Windows/IOS/other non-Jolla/SailfishOS devices or their internals belong here. But, shouldn't e.g. Android/Google/Samsung device users seek help to their problems from respective product/device/manufacturer sites and support forums, instead of Jolla forum?

I tried to copy the files but they didn't appear in the Here app. Seems like a simple copying is not enough so you may have to copy sth. else or simply go the normal way to download them officially and waste bandwith... I downloaded officially some maps and then they appeared in the list. If nobody finds another answer I think we can close this thread.
