I'm interested in purchasing the jolla smartphone in the coming months as my old android phone is getting out dated. I like the jolla smartphone because to has many qualities that android lacks like regular updates, open source, innovative UI etc...However i just found out that it is sold out on snapdeals which is the only store that sells it. I would like to know if the jolla team is willing to try another round in the Indian market or if a new jolla smartphone will emerge soon with better hardware.

hmm, not sure if this question belongs here at TJC... Snapdeal is an independent retailer, so maybe better to ask directly from them?

Correction: As others have pointed out it, the phone is also available on eBay and Amazon (international sites, not indian eBay or Amazon). And the indiegogo campaign isn't ending by February and has been extended till March 2015. Also, apparently the phone + tablet bundle is only for EU users (which is a bit stupid when you come to think of it, right? Why can't Jolla ship the phone along with the tablet too? As such, anyone who orders is also paying for the shipping, and if required Jolla can ask them to pay a little more.)

Your only other option - until Jolla makes more phones available in India (which is doubtful) - is to buy the phone with the Jolla tablet. Jolla is currently offering a good deal for both. Visit - https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/jolla-tablet-world-s-first-crowdsourced-tablet .

If I remember right, it will be shipped around May-June of this year, which should be about right for you.

I think with that purchase the phone is shipped in few days, while the tablet will be shipped in May.

@sifartech Not so urgent, the campaign is extended till the end of March now.

@pavi yes… :((( But I've heard about some companies/services who can get your order in EU at some address they own/rent and then redirect it to your country anywhere in the world for some reasonable fee. May be it can be a sort of workaround?

@sifartec Please, only three mistakes in your answer... 1. It's not the only option (there's Amazon) 2. Phone can't be bought via Indiegogo to India at all 3. Campaign goes on for at least a month more. Please fix or have a vote down :(

Hi, thanks for the info. I'm really excited that the jolla team has confidence in the Indian market. Android is really popular here as it is a trusted brand with a huge selection of apps and there are many phones with better specs but with a lower price tag than the jolla smartphone which made me skeptical on whether they could actually be successful even though i liked the phone very much. But despite all that i think they have done well so far as it has received a lot of positive reviews and a new and innovative OS is a welcomed change. I'm still waiting for a new jolla smart phone to be released though with better specs as it has been a 2 years since their first phone came out.

Hi I checked snapdeals few days back looks like they got a new stock of Jolla smartphones to sell after their successful launch here. I would like to see this smartphone os get a bigger market share now that other mobile manufacturers can use the os.
