It seems that since update 11, Android apps get stuck after the device went to suspended sleep mode. For example whatsapp doesn't show new messages after the device was locked for a while. Even maximising the app doesn't show new messages. The only way to get new messages is to close whatsapp and reopen it.

Can't verify that. In my phone at least WA works even when device is locked, and with Coderus's addon also the IM sound and led blink notifications work.

Also YLE Puhe (net radio, Android app) and Spotify keep playing when the phone is locked.

You need to be sure it's entering suspend mode. So wait at least 30 minutes without power connected. Then send a whatsapp message from a friend to yourself.

I just set suspend mode to early as workaround and so far it seems to work. With the downside of higher power consumption. (mcetool --set-suspend-policy=early)

I've the same behaviour since the update. Android notifications doesn't appear to work anymore when phone is not used for a while. The app from Coderus doesn't change anything.

Ok early suspend didn't help.

It's not only when device goes in suspend mode. Try to use WhatsApp Web Client, close the WhatsApp app on the Jolla Phone and Web Client will indicate you that the phone is no more online. As soon as you launch WhatsApp app, Web Client will tell you it's OK.
