Maybe there's problem with battery calibration. I would 1) discharge the battery until phone shuts down 2) connect to charger, keep phone powered off 3) charge to 100% and then charge a few hours extra 4) keep charger still connected and boot the device 5) after complete boot, disconnect charger.

Could the battery even be faulty?

no! battery isn't fault! this issue happen sometimes. but if i reboot at 58% and when system is booted show 49% there is something wrong i think!! it is not normal and sometimes when i charge the phone ON and reboot the range decrease at 89/95% but not always..

I have the same issue last few days.. Battery is full and with low consumption for whole day then suddenly it start eating battery as hell. 2-3 hours and it drops from around 80% to 30%. After restart it drops to 20% and then it's ok - no more battery drain. I have tohd service stopped from the day I got the device. And till now battery lasted for around 3 days with no problems.. wtf ?? Is there any way to figure it out what is the cause of this behaviour.

I experienced this issue this weekend as well, the battery was at about 85% around noon, and at 3 PM it was suddenly 49%, then I just noticed the battery go all the way down to 15% in 30 minutes using the phone!

I switced Jolla off in the evening when battery load was 28%. Next morning when I swithed it on there was 42%, wau, wireless loading! In the afternoon still 24%. May be just the counting is wrong?

I have disabled mobile network and using only wifi for last two days. I don't have this issue any more. So maybe is this related to mobile network ?

This can happen with any phone with really bad network. Usually this is related that the phone tries to use the best network available and ends up constantly switching between different networks. Last week I witnessed iPhone to go from 100% to completely empty in only a few hours and my friend who lives there said that this happens constantly in the New York where there is lot of users comparing to the network capacity. I was using 2G and I had no problems. You should be able to verify if this is the problem by just enforcing the network mode to 2G from the Settings -> System settings -> Mobile network.
