There is no option to save contacts only import. A suggestions would be to add to the People app settings menu, a sub menu "Export contacts" with several options to where and how to save contacts. Like vcf file to SD-card.

It seems that there is already linux command for this: Save contacts

This is actually a good request, as the only way now is to make a backup and copy the file from the phone. And I think this is something that is easy to implement (because the backup solution already is there). So why not just crating a menu item to invoke the backup for contacts, but modify it so that you are abel to choose the destination.

Thanks for finding that - I was too lazy last night to search. :P Closed this as a duplicate. :)

@anandrkris Those links that you refered to only cover vcf file. My suggestions was also how to do it graphically and to have a open discussion of other options around exporting contacts.

@Onyx - Hmm, a share option (Bluetooth, mail, etc) perhaps. IMO you could edit the other question since it has significant no. of votes already. You could also reopen this but I would advise against it.
