When opening additional menu in browser to share current URL there is only one option: email.

I think it would be great if there was another option: copy to clipboard.
Copying URLs to clipboard would be much easier this way and more user-friendly.

When tap-holding a URL in the browser, the context menu offers you to copy to clipboard. That doesn't solve it for the current page though, so I'll vote for this as well.

I'd also like to add share via SMS/IM. Even Twitter etc.

Yes, upvoting this. And as @GD 've marked, the sharing functionality is way underdeveloped now in SFOS.

@rburkhanov You are right. Actually we should have this option in general with the share function where it's meaningful.

I would not go to Share to copy an URL, I would just do like on any other system, to the address-bar.

Actually you can tap on the url bar and then long press on the url field, then the current url will be copied to clipboard.

That's true. But since there is a "share" button in the browser toolbar, it would make sense to have a "copy to clipboard" function there also.

actualy it is bit crazy if you already have something in clipboard, if i tap on clipboard icon it just paste it over address what i need to copy, mark/copy makr/paste act bit random to me

@ssahla, one can use the ClipboardSharePlugin to obtain exactly this functionality.

Firstly referred post is not available - revise it, if you please. Secondly your suggestion is merely a work-around since it implies knowledge of operating CLI which is not the average phone user's typical asset. Last but not least your solution - as much as I appreciate it - involves third-party software, which additionally has to be installed by disabling security mechanisms in Settings. The post asks for a true solution in the native browser and is therefore by no means answered in a manner that justifies closing it.

@lakutalo,

  1. Rectified (thanks for pointing this out).
  2. No CLI needed: Download Warehouse or Storeman RPM and install it via File Browser from the Jolla Store.
  3. The "Untrusted software" setting only has to be enabled once, in order to install Warehouse or (/ and) Storeman. It can be switched off right after their installation.
  4. These plugins do constitute "true" sharing solutions for the SailfishOS Browser and other native apps. But if you explicitly want such features from Jolla, you will probably have to wait indefinitely, as they are busy (as always) working on more fundamental aspects of SailfishOS, i.e. the operating system proper; IMO rightly so.
