I have just encountered the system update bug that makes the store inaccessible after latest update and had to reset the device now I have to do this tedious tutorial again and there is NO way to cancel it? Somebody soon will be smashing a Jolla phone with full intention, very frustrating.

How to cancel the Tutorial

You can actually cancel the tutorial. Just tap the following screen corners in that particular order while on the starting page of the tutorial:

  1. top left
  2. top right
  3. bottom right
  4. bottom left

Then the tutorial will close and you're back to your starting screen

Man, I just opened the tutorial to test that and it worked. You have no idea the amount of satisfaction that this method of yours gave me, I mean, it was like a revenge for those 2 - 3 minutes of tutorial wasted after every Jolla reset. Cheers mate!

How about a simple "CLOSE" button for all the normal mortals >_<

Good to know now. Just updated to 2.0 and for some reason the phone made me complete the tutorial again after reboot. There really, really should be some indicator that it's possible to skip it.

it made you repeat the tutorial because with the 2.0 UI some gestures were changed in respect to the 1.x version. The method to quit the tutorial is still valid.

What I meant was that after I upgraded to 2.0 the phone made me complete the tutorial twice. Once right after upgrading, once after rebooting the phone. In addition, the tutorial crashed the first time I was going through it, so actually it made me do it 2.5 times. Not complaining though. But it would be nice if the UI told it loud and clear that the tutorial can be skipped.

Press power button once, wait for one second, press power button again and swipe to home screen, long-tap tutorial app cover and finally terminate it. After that go out, treat yourself with a nice espresso in the sun, lean back, enjoy life and keep your Jolla in one piece. :)

Right, but there should be a button (or a swipe) to cancel the tutorial more easily.

Obviously they wanted to make really sure we've been through all of it before starting our first dive.

For me it is absolutely not possible, to skip the tutorial with your hints..

Interesting - it worked for me, though.

For me swipe to home screen is absolutely not possible
