[Bug] GPS signal lost on weak network or cell hopping [released]

It seems to be a problem with the a-gps signal if you driving around (using Waze). After Update to 1.1.2.16 i get the searching for GPS signal every time i change my 3G cell or and have weak network connection. It seems not to be a problem with GPS Signal (on some places the sky is fully visible and clear, but i know there are no network for about 10 sek when i pass this area) - I think it´s a problem by stay contiually calculating and providing the gps position without network or cellid

edit: reopened, it´s not fixed in 1.1.6.27. Have this issue sometimes too

After i change yesterday my Provider from "E-plus" to "O2" it seems to be no more GPS Signal lost happened. On O2 i have a constant strong networksignal ( min 50% 2G and after left 2G a constant 4G), so it coult be the reason of signal lost related to the old provider whith weak network in combination of slow providing cell id by cell hopping on low signal strength.

If GPS accurate position is requested cell/wifi position is only used/reported to the application when there is no GPS lock. Once a GPS lock is obtained cell/wifi position is no longer needed and stopped. Cellular data is not required after the initial SUPL download.

Ok and explain me how this behavier is possible? Same weather condition, same route, same place in car, only an other provider. So this wasn´t a problem before update to 1.1.2.16. Tell me, whats going wrong?

So you swapped within the company to have better signal to learn that networks are officially merged last week ;) (in my area the networks where merged >5 days ago)

@chemist - only merge @3G! no merge @ 2G and 4G yet. But at my area there is only 2G available. e-plus (base) about 0 - 2 bars (about 3 - 16 KB) and O2 about 2 - max. ( 20 - 50 KB), in addition O2 will upgrade the stadion to 4G next month. Also now i have a real full net flat with 2 GB LTE for 19,95. Base was e-plus flat with 500 MB for about 30 €.

@evo3de could be a reason from provider but i am sceptic. i have O2 and sometimes i have the problem told from you. By me is as state from feeling. currently i can't bring some facts/proof (i don't know how to do this).

Today i reproduced this problem and can tell you it dependes on 2G Network (or may weak 3G) - I´ve vergotten to set up on 4g and had only the 2g setting. And i have gps signal lost again (on suspected Cell borders)

Seems to be better after update to 1.1.6.27 - resolved
