I never use my Jolla as a phone (too cumbersome), but I have a SIM card in it that I sometimes use for data.

I could not find my phone yesterday so I rang it from another phone. This is the first time ever it has received a call. The next thing I know, I was using the browser and the screen timed out in about 2 seconds. I went to Settings and the screen timeout there was set to 30 seconds. I had to change that to 1 mninute and back to 30 seconds to get my normal timeout back.

Is this an expected behaviour or a bug? Is the phone call relevant or a coincidence? A forum search for "screen timeout" did not come back with anything useful.

Best guess - you might have hitting the "run an app on top of the lockscreen" bug:

Fiddling with settings may have just reordered the windows so the timeout didn't happen any more?
Does this seem plausible?

Well, from the points 1-6 in your link,

  1. Cannot be, I do not have a lock code.
  2. Could be. The Phone app was not running, it started when I called the phone.
  3. Could be. I may have accidentally pressed the power button, although I honestly do not remember doing any such thing.
  4. OK
  5. Nope. The normal lock screen showed up. Swipe down, tap on the browser cover, read, "boom", screen goes dark after 2 seconds.
  6. Have not tried.

It may still be the same bug but a different way to trigger it.
