Hi there,

I used the search but nothing helpful came up, the closest to my problem is maybe this article: USB connector is loose However I do not have the same problem: With my Jolla phone (that I have a bit over a year now), the micro USB socket on the phone is somewhat wobbly since about a month and I have difficulties to fit the plug. Therefore I usually have to fiddle around in the socket, bending around the little receptacle until, sometime, the plug finally fits and I can charge my phone. Of course I fear that I one day will break the socket with this.

Does anybody know this problem or have a solution for a workaround? It is very annoying, as it is the only way to charge the phone... Except I would go for wireless charging with an upgrade like here

I hope this problem will be considered in the planning of a next Jolla phone ;)

Best, siggg

MicroUSB was a really bad choice for industry-standard charger connection... you have to be so careful in order not to force it upside down in darkness. Force it and it will be ruined.

Honestly I've o say I've never have had any problems with other smartphones micro USB sockets, but the Jolla's one is very bad. The receptacle of Lumia 820 is still perfect after more than 2 years of daily use (company phone), the connector fit perfectly in the socket and no movement of the phone can make the connection unreliable.

The situation in Jolla phone is terrible, the connector stay 1mm out and any little movement can interrupt connections. This issue must be solved absolutely in next Jolla phone and i hope is going to be solved in tablet too

Thank you for your answers. I too think that the Jolla phone has a specially bad USB socket, since obviously i try to avoid plugging the cable in the wrong way and if I should do it once in a while, I certainly do not force anything. I have never encountered a similar thing on another machine that I owned.
