This can be very useful for syncing passwords, bookmarks, history, adblock-plus data and etc.

Edit; still not available in 1.1.2.16, any progress on this, Jolla?

Yes indeed, I thought the Mozilla sync is was only available for Firefox browsers but if it is possible to have in Jolla stock browser, then please do. Well, it's Gecko based, so we are not out of luck. are we?

in sone thread at TMO it was said that the engine already supports this in large parts, so implenenting a UI for this shouldn't be impossible

I'd like it better to be able to sync to own services, such as owncloud.

Syncing to Mozilla allows using the same history and bookmarks with Firefox, so it's browser oriented. Ownlcoud is useful for other things (contacts, calendar and etc.).

There is an issue for that feature request in the public github for the browser. As commented below, the UI for set up a synchronization should be created there.

For the implementation of the synchronization functionality itself the code goes here: https://git.merproject.org/mer-core/embedlite-components/blob/master/jscomps/EmbedLiteSyncService.js

Yep, once more Sailfish components will open up, their bugtrackers will be a better place for such requests.

However, that's not where the actual code will have to be implemented. Actual code goes here: https://github.com/tmeshkova/embedlite-components/blob/master/jscomps/EmbedLiteSyncService.js

Request in your link probably should focus on the UI part for Sync.

There is an embedlite-components repo in the Mer project's GitLab, so I updated the link.

I use a workaround now : http://neatoit.com/ It was an app for Palm webOS then for iOS and Android (so you can install on your Jolla), so you can send link and wathever you want (but "text-related") and access to your desktop browser then. Hope it helps.

(but I guess there are so many thing like neato)
