When browsing Gallery and selecting a photo to be shared to Twitter/Facebook (from Pulley menu), the sharing always fails when image metadata is not in the photo. This happens by default (the metadata is deleted by default when entering the Twitter/Facebook sharing setup). Sharing always succeeds when metadata is first added back to photo.

Also, the indication that upload fails doesn't tell the reason why tweet fails and the reason was found by trying all possible options in the tweet setup to realize that it is because of deleted image metadata.

This bug is serious in terms of privacy cause now all image metadata is always publically present in all photos shared to different services. I have also made a Jolla Care request of this issue some time ago, and it has been assigned (thus it is hopefully already worked on), so this could be fixed soon.

Note: bug is still present in 1.0.2.5 so that photo sharing to Twitter or to Facebook always fails when metadata is removed from the image with error-msg; 'Oops, something went wrong with upload img_name.png'

Thats strange, I've had this since December and I do remember that I tested it after 1.0.2.5 and it was still broken. Gotta re-check this, thanks for the info..

@Bysmyyr Did you have to do anything to get it working? Have you had issues with photo sharing without metadata previously (e.g. before 1.0.2.5 upgrade)?

No, it just works. No problems, but I do not remember if I even tried it before that...

This has been triaged/seen: meaning there's a bug entry for it and it's being looked into. Will try to follow up on this.

Just reporting that after 1.0.3.8 upgrade the Twitter sharing of Gallery photos seems to be working with and without metadada in them, Haven't checked FB or Email photo sharing yet.

I can report that it works fine for Facebook as well in 1.0.3.8. Should we close this?

I'm on the last version 1.0.5.16. When I want to share a picture on facebook, i have to add the facebook account (in the account section i already added a fb account!), then I accept the conditions, then facebook ask me to enter my login....then a white page appear with css code...and I cant go on...so impossible to share the picture....

I tried with and without metadata ... what can I do?

Hi guys I'm also experiencing this problem, but even adding metadata back does not help. I don't get any error message, the photo just is not sent to Twitter (I'm not on FB). What can I do? Kind Regards, Kaisa (version Tahkalampi)
