Bug: Gallery photos cannot be shared without metadata to Twitter/Facebook [released]
When browsing Gallery and selecting a photo to be shared to Twitter/Facebook (from Pulley menu), the sharing always fails when image metadata is not in the photo. This happens by default (the metadata is deleted by default when entering the Twitter/Facebook sharing setup). Sharing always succeeds when metadata is first added back to photo.
Also, the indication that upload fails doesn't tell the reason why tweet fails and the reason was found by trying all possible options in the tweet setup to realize that it is because of deleted image metadata.
This bug is serious in terms of privacy cause now all image metadata is always publically present in all photos shared to different services. I have also made a Jolla Care request of this issue some time ago, and it has been assigned (thus it is hopefully already worked on), so this could be fixed soon.
Note: bug is still present in 1.0.2.5 so that photo sharing to Twitter or to Facebook always fails when metadata is removed from the image with error-msg; 'Oops, something went wrong with upload img_name.png'

Bysmyyr ( 2014-01-06 17:12:38 +0200 )editThats strange, I've had this since December and I do remember that I tested it after 1.0.2.5 and it was still broken. Gotta re-check this, thanks for the info..

foss4ever ( 2014-01-07 05:08:56 +0200 )editNo, it just works. No problems, but I do not remember if I even tried it before that...
