When using Facebook people chats with phone and then with pc or other devices like tabs. It seems that Jolla knows only those messages that are sent to facebook friend from the Jolla itself. Ofcourse incoming messages seem to arrive. Anyway it's really important to see the message that you have written by yourselft before to that person also from the other devices.

If I'm correct, Jolla also doesn't retrieve messages that have arrived while Jolla has been disconnected from facebook.

and it would be nice if it could understand that a message has been read, when you've checked them out on PC or another device

This isn't possible through the XMPP integration provided by Facebook that Jolla is using. The behaviour was the same on the N900 and N9. That functionality requires a Facebook app.

The behaviour was not like this in N9 where the whole conversation could be seen regardless of from where I had send my own messages (phone, web, other mobile)

So maybe your answer is correct abt XMPP but it does not hold for N9.

Correct. I just did a quick trace of the XMPP traffic from Facebook, and there is no notification of any kind in this case. This will have to be implemented on the Facebook side first, and they don't move fast. See https://developers.facebook.com/docs/chat/

Please don't accept an answer that contains false information (the behaviour in N9 was not like that).

Investigating a bit further. It looks like the N9 used the Facebook "own-message" extension for this. We have that same code, but we're never receiving them from the server. Can you confirm that this feature works on the N9 now?

@jbrooks At least it has been working in N9 but I'll do some FB-messaging and see how it works now in N9, will report here later.
