Edit 30th Jan 2016: This does not yet work for local HTML files (as commented a couple of months ago).

It should be possible to get icons in application list as shortcuts to web pages for faster access to most used web services. Icon could be the default icon of the site clipped by a disk to remind the browser icon. Touching such an icon opens a new tab in the browser or (better) a new window when multiple windows are supported.

I dislike this idea. This could cause a lot of chaos for normal user with tens installed applications and a lot of favorites.

@Zagothal obviously it would have to work in conjunction with a 'folders' feature for applications on the applications screen. Then icon-bookmarks could be categorised along with all other apps. The organisation issue is a separate problem and not enough of a reason to not implement this.

I'm strongly in favor of the option of adding a bookmark to the apps list. I have a few pages that I access often - schedules, results, etc - and it shouldn't need to take as many clicks as it takes now to go through the browser. I started using these under Harmattan.

@andrew_dotdot This is only one or two more clicks I think. This is tolerable.

@Zagotal - I just disagree. An icon in the apps list means I can walk and check at the same time: One click, info ready to hit the eyes. 2-3 clicks, plus a scroll through the favourites list isn't at all the same. Again, the option of pinning a bookmark to the app screen is all we ask... :)

Don't know since which version, but this is avialable now:

  1. Generate a favourite by clicking the star in navigation bar.
  2. Go to favourites
  3. Log press on favourite and in dropdown you can add it to App grid. (In German: "Zu App-Gitter hinzufügen")
