Can I compile extra kernel modules for 1.1.4.29

I'd like to complement my jolla with some extra kernel modules, the easiest way would be to get hold of the kernel source for 3.4.98.2015.1.1 that it seems to be running. I know (or at least believe) that there are some proprietary drivers, but with the right source and .config I should be able to load my freshly compiled modules in the running kernel, right?

I'm not sure about the difference in the numbering scheme, but I guess 3.4.98.20141031.3 is too old?

Back then, I managed to package and compile zRAM on the Jolla phone.
Sources and spec files are here: https://github.com/g7/kernel-module-zram-jolla

I hope it'll help.

You of course need, as you said, to get the latest kernel sources. You should wait until the big sources package for the latest SailfishOS version is uploaded to http://releases.sailfishos.org/sources/.

(it seems they're lagging a bit in this regard -- the latest sources are for Sailfish 1.1.1/Update10)

Have fun :)

Seems like they refuse to give out sources in 2015. To remember them I'll send this letter

Hi,

Please send me the kernel sources from SailfishOS 1.1.6.27 (Aaslakkajärvi) (armv7hl).
If you receive this letter after SailfishOS 2.0 has been released please send me the kernel sources of it, too.

Send the DVD with the sources to
[MY ADRESS]

Greetings,
[MY NAME]

to

Jolla Oy
ATTN: Source Code Requests
Itämerenkatu 11-13

I guess the more people doing this the better; at some point the DVD + shipment costs must be higher than the costs to upload the archive... ;)
