Skype - they can only hear crackling sound when I talk [answered]

Hi,

As the subject says, when I talk via Skype I can hear them clearly, but they only hear a crackling sound. I have done an echo/test call, and it confirms that only the crackling sound seems to be comming from my side. Later on I've tried SoundHound and it also doesn't seem to hear the music anymore, so it must be some sound engine messup with liendalvik

I have no any problem with speakerphones/mic/etc when making a normal phone call.

Out of "unusual patches" I have been using Android app notofications, but I turned it off, I'm not sure actually if it could be connected.

Any ideas?

DUP this is an known bug related with the call recorder app you can install the fix here have a nice day!

I had the same behavior of Skype, but after reboot (or several) it fixes by itself.

As TK already mentioned, issue is exclusively related to call recorder. Install Schturman script and you will get back your voice. :D

Thanks all for the commetns. It was Call Recorder indeed. I didn't bother to patch it as it's not that inportant, I jut got rid of the faulty app and everything works again

It sounds like your top microphone is busted (small hole next to the Jolla logo.) Android apps mostly use that one. . You could try to test your microphones with the csd tool to confirm.

Thanks for the hint. I did the CSD tests on bottom mic, top mic and headset recording, all works fine.
