Navigation dots hide text

Would it be possible to prevent the navigation dots from obscuring text in lists? This is an example from the mail app:

This looks pretty cheap and amateurish, IMHO.

In my opinion, they should be hidden when scrolling down but made visible, when used scrolls up, like the bar in the web browser.

That sounds good - as long as the whole bar is shown, so that the dots don't appear over the content.
