Activate multiple dictionaries for word-prediction [answered]

The keyboard suggests words by completing or correcting the typed characters from a dictionary of one chosen language. However, in my case and I guess also in many others, one dictionary is not enough as I write messages/emails/notes etc. not only in my mother tongue but also in english.

Instead of either typing all words in one hand without completion it would be great to activate two dictionaries so it is easier to switch or mix between multiple languages while using the completion feature.

You can do that by long tap on space key and chose from available languages.

And activate the needed languages in Settings/System/Text input.

I wouldn't count that as an answer as I see the OP asking for multiple predictionaries at work for one and the same keyboard layout. This is currently not possible as I had written here: https://together.jolla.com/question/13261/multiple-editable-predictionaries-for-vkb/

@MoritzJT Read again! "switch or mix between multiple languages while using the completion feature" doesn't say anything about "the same keyboard layout", imho. Besides that, we might as well let the OP decide what he/she think is a proper answer, don't you think? ;) You might not be satisfied with the answer, but that doesn't mean everyone else is wrong.

@MoritzJT@eson It may not exactly answer the question, however it is a good work-around. Maybe there will be a perfect answer some day, but until then this is the preferred solution.

Yes, I'm sorry for the mess. It was a misunderstanding. In that case you're right. The completion feature is active all the time though, isn't it? For now you just switch between a layout/dictionary combination.

When I unticked the answer button I thought it was more some kind of a vote not a toggle switch. Now I know better. Also I don't think that everyone else is wrong ;-) Hope I didn't leave that kind of impression.

On the other hand I thought the knowledge about activating multiple VKB layout/dict. combos would be common, so I interpreted your question differently.

Hope it's good now.
