[1.1.6.x] Thumbfile [answered]

My Jolla is nearly out of memory - 2-3gb free - I downloaded "powercleaner" from App-Store. The app showed me a file called thumbdata3-- which is 8.7gb great. It's located in home/nemo/android_storage/DCIM/.thumbnails Does anybody know this file? Can I just delete it or are there data contained needed for android apps?
EDIT: Thanks for your comments! I wrote zendesk just to be safe, cause last time I tried deleting something I don't know or understand, I lost some important data :D
So stay tuned, I'll let you as fast as I get an answer.
Has someone else the same behaviour?
EDIT2: I got advice from zendesk, they told me it shouldn't be a problem to delete this file. So I deleted it without issues. But it seems to be a hoax of file manager, after deleting the file, free storage was the same as before. But one thing changed, Storage menu in settings --> about device now works fine :D
I regularly delete thumbnail data from

I don't use the Android part of the device, so I cannot directly advise. But to me, the fact that they reside in a 'home' folder, means they can be deleted/managed by the user. As far as I know, there is only data associated with images only within that folder, hence it's name./thumbnails- personally I would just try it, but it's up to you of course. tracker-control -es.In general thumbnails data exists just for showing you the thumbnails (small pictures) e.g. in your gallery and is worling like a cache (AFAIK). I already searched quite a lot reagarding this topic on the internet to solve a nasty space problem on the Android phone of my gf and I learned that Android ist permanently indexing/caching all media into this thumbnail data (even if you delete this media later) under
/DCIM/.thumbdata3--xxxxxxxxxxand is never deleting this file so that it can get exorbitant large.So if we now assume that the Alien Dalvik System on our Jolla Phones is working quite the same as native Android phones and is also imitating this dumb indexing behaviour, we can conclude that this
/DCIM/.thumbdata3--xxxxxxxxxx-file serves the same use on our Jolla phones as on native ShitDroid Phones and that we are save to delete this file(s) because they will be recreated anyway - just as smaller files because they don't contain the data that you already deleted anymore.BTW my

I think I am going to delete this files (as I did on the ShitDroid phone of my gf without any problems) and will see how my massive memory and btrfs issues will evolve. :)@drummer12 It might not be a good idea to close question without an accepted answer as answered. Could you write your own answer on this, or close as outdated instead?
