It would be great if a link in the browser can be shared via all channels not only via FB, Twitter and E-Mail. Maybe even via Bluetooth ?

Apart from sharing by bluetooth is now impossible (and aren't Nokia and HTC fighting over a patent on this in courts?) I often notice people find it extremely hard to enable bluetooth for some reason, or don't even know how, or that it exists. Sharing a URL by generating a QR-code might help.

Yes, QR-Code would be really cool.

Totally agree! Reminding that you can't share videos except via bluetooth and email. I would need the possibility to share my videos at least to Facebook&Youtube. Here's the link to topic: https://together.jolla.com/question/5377/video-sharing-options-from-gallery-to-facebook-youtube-and-twitter/

Modular implementation possible (so that other sharing links can be added by developer)?

I strongly support the general idea (and want to emphasize the XMPP support ;)

Sharing links from the SailfishOS Browser between devices:

  • Via QR-code can be easily achieved by installing the QR-code share plugin to display a URL as a QR-code on the screen, so one can scan the QR-code with another device in order to quickly transfer a URL between devices.
  • Sharing via Bluetooth still needs the awkward workaround to copy the URL to the clipboard (see below, how to do that), open an editor (e.g. TinyEdit from the Jolla Store), paste the URL from the clipboard, save the text file and use FileCase's (or any other file manager's) share menu to share the URL via Bluetooth.

Sharing locally with other apps on the device:

All these plugins are available at OpenRepos.net (and are easily installable via Warehouse or Storeman).

See https://together.jolla.com/question/176111/browser-share-menu-improvement/?answer=176123#post-id-176123 what it looks like, if you have these plugins installed.

It would be nice to just make a DownsideUp flip to display the URL as a QR or datamatrix barcode.
