Is it just me or is the DateTime Exif information no longer saved to photo metadata? I don't seem to have the creation/modification date in any of my post-1.1.9.28-upgrade photos.

In addition, there now is Make and Model data. The rest of the fields seem unchanged.

[edit 26. Oct. 2015] Still an issue with 2.0.0.10. The release notes claim "EXIF data (manufacturer, model, resolution, aspect) fixed" but that's indeed limited to the listed items, still no modification date.

Yep, since the last update, Eineheminlampi, the date and time are not in the EXIF data.

Can you put it back please ??

Does anyone have an educated guess on how soon a fix for this can be expected?

Or does anyone have any hints on how to get photos' date and time from Jolla to computer (Linux) ? I now transfer the photos with mtp-getfile which does not preserve file date.

EDIT: Solved the above by using scp -p to copy the files and preserve the file modification date. When the file modification date is correct, the missing tag can be created with exiftool '-FileModifyDate>DateTimeOriginal' filename.jpg

Still, would like to see this fixed.

Copied some pics from last holiday and see that date/time is not set in EXIF. That's fatal! Please fix this immediately.

Yeah just noticed this after transferring the files with mtp and then importing to shotwell. Lucky me have deleted all the originals so no dates now. Darn.

Hi,

it surprises me that this terrible bug is not solved yet!! (I can't find it in the latest changelog from 2.0.1/Taalojärvi)

To get the things clear (from the comments):

There are the usual timestamps of a file which are displayed from the exiftool too. But this is not an exif-tag! And it is nonsense to use these timestamps for this purpose since they will/must be altered on access/change of the file. I think, this is the purpose that someone invented the "tags".

So the solution is simple and clear: the camera-app should add the exif-tag "DateTimeOriginal" (http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/TagNames/EXIF.html) .

Sincerly, Helge

Tumbled to this 'feature' yesterday, and if this really has been an issue since 1.1.9.28 it is really unbelievable. Shame on you Jolla! :(

It's the increasing number of little things left broken and ignored like this in the OS and platform apps that are now, after almost 2.5 years, sadly leading me look at other phones and other OSs.

Hi,

I had the opportunity to look at another Jolla phone (OS 2.0.1.1, delivered with OS 1.x.x.). The Camera-App on this writes the DateTimeOriginal-Tag. (Now it is clear why here are only a few comments.)

My Jolla was delivered with OS-Version 2.0 . Since then I made the regular updates to 2.0.1.1. All my pictures including the first ones haven't this tag.

My question to the Jolla-developers: Where is the difference between these two devices?

Sincerely, Helge

And more importantly, when is Jolla going to fix this!!

my Jolla was shipped with 1.x and was updated to 2.0.1 (including several resets in the past 2 years). It's buggy too.
