Both timecode and title of the current track are only updated when going completely to the homescreen. While peeking, the cover doesn't get updated and just displays outdated information.

How to reproduce:

  • open jolla stock media player
  • play an album/ a playlist with at least two songs
  • skip towards the end of the song
  • when peeking, you can see that the old songtitle is still displayed, although the next song has already begun. The time code also doesn't change
  • go to the homescreen. Now the information in the cover is updated as it should

First I thought it may be a variant of "Peeking now freezes the running app", but soon I found out this issue has to be application specific. Gpodder for example isn't affected by this, the timecode on its cover changes even while peeking. So I guess it is a bug in Jolla media player.

Edit:

Still valid for 2.0.2.48 Aurajoki realease.

E. g. the native clock app active cover is also not updated while peeking and then also while you are inside of an app - with such serious bugs regarding the multitasking experience this has nothing to do with multitasking anymore.

@Alex Can you give some details? At my phone both stopwatch and countdown get updated on the cover.

@schnittlauch I just tested also the countdown and it is also freezing.

For reproducing you have to just start the native clock app (and maybe set an countdown to see the freezing seconds immeditately), push the clock app to the homescreen, open another app and keep it in foreground/opened (e.g. the settings app) and just use the peek gesture.

@Alex You're right, if peeking from another app the cover isn't updated. The difference to the media player is that its cover also doesn't updated when peeking from the app itself.

This was very annoying. But for me it's working in 2.0.3.11, so it seems this will be fixed soon. :)
