Offer user-definable GPS/Bluetooth timeout settings under Settings > Apps for each app individually ( e.g. from instantaneously to never ). These settings should take effect after locking the device / or closing the magnetic tablet lid. This could bring comfort in mind and enhanced battery stamina. Many times I discovered a power-hungry GPS-utilizing ( Android ) app still running - even not required any more - after having put away the phone under busy daily situations.

Good android apps do have a setting to reduce or suspend GPS on their own, bluetooth gets into sleep with display off if there is no connection open.

▲ Well, if implemented natively to SFOS - there would be peace at mind once and for all ... IMHO "good android apps" wouldn't be precise enough for me.
