I don't know if it is only my Jolla tablet and lastu case but the magnetic sensor seems not working fine. When the feature is switched on in display settings the display reacts weird.

Sometimes when opening the cover the display stays black. Mostly when opening the cover the display switches on and goes black again after one or two seconds. Then also double-tap does not wake it. I need to use the power button to wake the display again.

Can anyone with the magnetic lastu case for the jolla tablet confirm this behavior?

SFOS version is 2.0.0.10 on my tablet

EDIT: I realized that the magnetic switch inside the jolla tablet also reacts to a magnetic field on the back of the device. When I remove the tablet from the plastic protector of the lastu case and cover the front of the tablet with the wooden lastu case side opening and closing the cover activates and deactivates the display correclty. - So the magnets in the back of the lastu case does influence the magnetic switch also.

A solution would therefore be a second sensor which could detect that the cover is actually opened or closed when the magnitic switch detects a change. Could that be the ambient light sensor if it is covered by the cover, too?

I can confirm that occasionally the screen stays black when the flip cover is opened and you have to use the power button to wake up the screen. Double tapping occasionally still works in this scenario on my device though.

Well my Jolla Tablet is running on 2.0.1.7 and this feature is not working at all - the display does not react in any way to the magnets. :/

yes, it's also not working at all with 2.0.1.7 on my tablet. Seems the feature is now completely broken?!

I think I found the cause of this strange actions which you described in your initial question:

I activated the Glance Screen and my Jolla Tablet Screen acted really weird after the reboot (with activated Hall-Sensor-feature in the settings) - after opening the Lastucase I will see the Lockscreen for one second but it disappears immidiately and after that I am unable to unlock the screen with a double tap, but only with the button - after disabling the Glance Screen again the display is acting immidiately normal again (this means the diplay won't turn on but stay black after openening the Lastucase as this is the bug we are talking about).

EDIT:

Okay, well I have to correct me: Now I am experiencing this strange behaviour even after deactivating the Glance Screen and rebooting. I am now able to lock the screen with closing the Lastucase AND attaching it to the back of the case, but unlocking is not working and I HAVE to use the powerkey (like described above). I have to deactivate this feature for the time now :(

I had a similar problem (the display turned on when the flip cover was opened, just to turn off when the cover snapped to the back of the tablet) and contacted Jolla support. Today they replied that the problem probably can be fixed in the software. They currently have no estimate when it will be released.

Thanks for your answer. Good that the Sailors realized that this is a problem and that it can be fixed in SW.
